On April 1, 2020, the Brazilian Ministry of Economy announced the exemption of import tariffs on three medical supplies. The Brazilian Ministry of Economy continued to announce on April 3, 2020, that 25 medical supplies and materials are temporarily exempt from import tariffs. The validity period is from the announcement date to September 30, 2020. Duty-free items include respirators and non-woven materials for masks, etc., and the resolution No. 22 of March 25, 2020 was amended that duty-free imported alcohol shall not be used for fuel purposes (vehicle or machine fuel) (please refer to the announcement for product items and tax numbers: http://www.in.gov.br/en/web/dou/-/decreto-n-10.302-de-1-de-abril-de-2020-250710590).
