On November 18, 2019, Health Canada announced a recall of children’s jackets made in China.
This recall involves multiple models of children’s jackets. Jackets come with drawstrings, buttons and more. The specific recalled product information is as follows:
The drawstring on the hood of this product may get entangled or stuck on slides, handrails, car doors, etc., posing a risk of suffocation to children.
The products recalled were sold in Canada from August 2019 to November 2019, with approximately 695 units sold.
As of November 12, 2019, no reports of accidents or casualties have been received.
Health Canada recommends that consumers should remove drawstrings from clothing immediately to eliminate hidden dangers.
