On November 12, 2019, the U.S. Consumer Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada announced a recall of Chinese-made hoodies.
The recalled products are 15 models of children’s hoodies of the Hooey brand. The hoodie is polyester and cotton with a drawstring and “Hooey” printed on the hood. The sizes are divided into XS, S, M, L, and XL. The white label on the back neckline is printed with “Hooey” and “MadeinChina”, and the label on the side has clothing care instructions printed on it.
The drawstring on the hood of this product may be entangled or stuck on slides, handrails, car doors, etc., posing a risk of suffocation to children.
This product was sold in the United States and Canada from September 2017 to October 2019. This recall involves approximately 6,600 units sold in the United States and approximately 520 units in Canada, priced at approximately US$45.
So far, no reports of accidents or casualties have been received
CPSC and Health Canada recommend that drawstrings should be removed from clothing immediately Remove to eliminate hidden dangers.
