According to statistics, in the past seven days, the spot price of cotton in Pakistan has dropped by 150 rupees to 8,050 rupees per maund, a decrease of 1.8%. The price of 30S pure cotton yarn in Faisalbad market fell by 15 rupees, or 0.85%. Polyester staple fiber prices have begun to stabilize after rising sharply in the past few months, with the price of 1.4D polyester staple fiber remaining at 198 rupees/kg for three consecutive weeks.
Recently, affected by the holidays, Pakistan’s domestic demand for pure cotton yarn has been suppressed, while the demand for blended yarn is relatively strong. In the export market, China’s demand has dropped sharply, and Pakistan’s cotton yarn export prices have remained basically unchanged. According to statistics, Pakistan’s cotton yarn exports decreased by 4.02% year-on-year to 37,000 tons in August 2018.
