Diversification of Bangladesh’s garment exports needs to be developed

According to a report by Financial Express on August 30, Bangladesh’s garment export categories are still dominated by cotton products. Data show that Bangladesh exported US$30.6 billion in ready-made garments in fiscal year 2018, of which total exports of trousers, T-shirts, jackets, sweaters, and shirts totaled US$22.39 billion, accounting for 85%. Experts believe that the export categories of garments are too concentrated, which is not conducive to the sustainable development of the garment industry.
