In the week of December 15th to 21st, the prices of pure cotton yarn and polyester cotton yarn in India increased slightly. Among them, the prices of 100% pure cotton yarn and T65/C35 polyester-cotton yarn in Punjab Province both increased by 1 rupee/kg, while the price of 100% viscose yarn remained at 177 rupees/kg. As the price of polyester staple fiber increased by 3 rupees/kg in December, the price of polyester yarn was increased by 1 rupee/kg last week.
In terms of exports, the price of 100% cotton yarn increased by 7 cents/kg last week, an increase of 2.24%. The price of PC yarn fell by 1.8% to US$2.75/kg.
At present, India’s domestic and export consumption and sales focus is still on pure cotton yarn. According to statistics, India’s pure cotton yarn market share accounted for 70% last year. From April to October this year, the pure cotton yarn market share accounted for approximately 73.3%, and blended yarn production fell by 7.3%.
