On December 9, 2016, the European Commission’s Rapid Alert System for Non-Food Products (RAPEX) issued a consumer warning (alert number: A12/1591/16) on the Chinese-made “Seagull” brand children’s suit. The notifying country in this case is Hungary. The product notified this time is a children’s suit consisting of a long-sleeved T-shirt with a hood and zipper and a pair of pants, in red, pink and gray colors. The clothes are sequined with sequins, glued with rhinestones and semi-beads, and printed with decorative text. Size is 1A. The product style/model is CSQ-58017. The barcode is 6812056580177. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development industry classification code (OECD Portal Category) is 67000000-Clothing (clothing).
The small rhinestones and semi-beads decorated on the above-mentioned clothes may fall off and cause suffocation if children accidentally eat them.
At present, the Hungarian authorities have taken measures to delist the above products and recall them from consumers.
