On August 12, 2016, the European Commission’s Rapid Early Warning System for Non-Food Products (RAPEX) issued a consumer warning (alert number: A12/0987/16) for Chinese-made “Ollike” brand children’s socks. The notifying country in this case is Hungary. The products notified this time are children’s socks, 1 pack of 3 pairs. There are little pom poms stuck to each pair of socks. The product style/model is C893G. The barcodes are 1511160048751/6938347518930. The OECD industry classification code is 67000000 – Clothing.
The small pom poms on the above-mentioned children’s socks are easy to fall off, and children may suffocate if swallowed by mistake.
At present, the Hungarian authorities have taken measures to recall and delist the above-mentioned products from consumers.
To this end, it is recommended that relevant domestic production and export enterprises attach great importance to this.
