According to a report by Pakistan’s “National” on July 22, in the 2015/16 fiscal year (July 2015-June 2016), affected by the reduction in domestic cotton production and the decline in China’s economic growth, Pakistan’s textile exports fell by 7.4%.
Data show that Pakistan’s textile exports in the 2015/16 fiscal year were US$12.45 billion, a decrease of approximately US$1 billion or 7.4% from the previous fiscal year. Textile exports in June were only US$990 million, down 8.3% year-on-year.
Among them, cotton yarn exports dropped from US$1.84 billion to US$1.26 billion, a decrease of 31.77%. Cotton cloth exports dropped from US$2.45 billion to US$2.21 billion. A decrease of 9.71%. Carded or combed cotton dropped by 97.49%. Other yarn categories except cotton yarn decreased by 23.5%. The export volume of other industries also declined slightly.
Affected by the decline in textile exports, Pakistan’s total export volume in the 2015/16 fiscal year was only US$20.8 billion, failing to meet the export target of US$25.5 billion. Pakistan’s textile exports fell by 7.4% in fiscal year 2015/16
