According to the “Daily Star” report on April 28, the Bangladesh Textile Association expressed concern about the increase in gas prices for self-owned power stations. Bangladesh Textile Association (BTMA) Chairman Taban Chaudhry said that if the government raises the price again, Gas prices will put huge pressure on Bangladeshi spinning mills, because international spinning mills will be able to supply raw materials to Bangladeshi garment factories at lower prices. In September last year, the Bangladesh government increased the gas price of textile mills’ self-owned power stations from 4.26 taka/cubic meter (approximately 0.34 yuan/cubic meter) to 8.36 taka/cubic meter (approximately 0.67 yuan/cubic meter), BTMA Said that this has reduced the yarn sales profit to US$1/kg, and the Bangladesh government plans to increase the gas price again, from 8.36 Taka/cubic meter to 19.22 Taka/cubic meter (approximately 1.5 yuan/cubic meter), The increase is as high as 130%.
