-Overview of China’s home textile exports

From January to July 2015, the cumulative decline in national home textile exports further expanded, with exports reaching US$14.55 billion, a decrease of 5.1%, an increase of 1 percentage point from the previous month. At the same time, export volume fell by 3%, and the average export price dropped slightly by 1.1%.
1. Exports to the United States grew rapidly, while exports to Japan continued to decline
From January to July, home textile exports to the United States grew rapidly, with an export value of US$4.15 billion, an increase of 11.5%. Exports to the EU declined slightly, with an export value of US$2.42 billion, a decrease of 5.6%. Exports to Japan continued to fall deeply, with an export value of 1.35 billion. USD, down 17.5%.
From the perspective of the intercontinental market, home textile exports to Asia declined significantly, with an export value of US$5.11 billion, a decrease of 8.7%, of which exports to ASEAN were US$1.21 billion, a decrease of 5.6%. In addition, exports to Africa increased by 0.6%, and exports to Latin America decreased by 3.7%.
2. Eastern provinces and cities are relatively stable, but Guangdong is growing against the trend
Among the top four exporting provinces and cities, exports from Zhejiang and Shandong decreased by 1.1% and 5.3% respectively, while exports from Jiangsu and Shanghai increased slightly by 0.3% and 0.6% respectively. Guangdong ranked fifth, with exports growing against the trend, with an increase of 25.5%.
In addition, home textile exports in central and western provinces and cities have generally declined, with exports from Heilongjiang, Jilin, Inner Mongolia and other provinces and cities falling by more than 50%.
