Exports to Hong Kong were US$3.62 billion, down 26.4%. Exports to Australia were US$2.23 billion, down 8.9%.
2. The export volume of all major categories of clothing decreased
From January to July, woven garment exports were US$41.26 billion, down 1.9%, and export volume increased by 5.3%. Knitted garment exports were US$38.75 billion, down 11.6%, and export volume fell by 13.4%. Fur leather apparel exports were US$1.02 billion, down 20%, and export volume dropped 25%. In terms of commodity materials, cotton garment exports were US$32.77 billion, down 11.4%; chemical fiber garment exports were US$36.41 billion, down 2.7%; silk garment exports were US$570 million, down 6.9%; woolen garment exports were US$1.81 billion, down 2.8%.
3. Among the top five export provinces and cities, only Guangdong maintains growth
From January to July, among the top five provinces and cities in apparel exports, Guangdong’s exports continued to grow and ranked first, with an export volume of US$20.93 billion, an increase of 15.6%. The exports of Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Fujian and Shanghai all declined, with the decline ranging from 4% to 10%, with export values of US$175.6, US$13.11, US$8.89 and US$7.17 billion respectively. In addition, exports from Chongqing and Qinghai grew rapidly, with increases of 56.7% and 261.9% respectively, while exports from Heilongjiang, Tibet, Hainan, and Shanxi declined rapidly, with declines exceeding 50%.
