According to reports, the new version of the EU’s “Ecological Textile Standard 100” has been officially implemented recently. This is the world’s most authoritative and influential ecological textile label, used to detect the indicators of textile and garment products that affect human health.
Compared with last year’s version, the new version of the ecological textile standard has added many new testing items in the category of harmful substances. For example, in the technical specifications for ecological textiles, the number of phthalates (plasticizers) in candidate samples has been increased from the original 6 to 12, and the total limit of these 12 items remains at the previous 0.1%.
Experts suggest that export companies should strictly design and produce products in accordance with new standards, actively change production processes, try to avoid the use of harmful dyes and auxiliaries, and adopt environmentally friendly alternatives.
