Sporting goods and clothing in Switzerland are more expensive than in neighboring countries such as Germany, Austria, France or Italy. Sporting goods purchased in Switzerland are 19% more expensive than products purchased in neighboring countries, and clothing products are up to 25% more expensive.
According to the latest price index released by the Consumer Protection Union, the price of sporting goods in Switzerland is 19% higher than in France, and the same product is sold in Austria at a price that is 10% cheaper than in Switzerland. The price survey was based on a comparison of 90 sports products with the highest turnover in the world.
In terms of clothing product prices, the price gap between Switzerland and other countries is even greater. This time, the Consumer Protection Alliance compared 115 pieces of clothing from H&M, ZARA, Esprit, Mango and VeroModa brands. The price of the same product in Switzerland is a quarter higher than that in Italy, Germany and Austria, and 22% more expensive than in France.
