We learned from the Aksu Prefecture Seed Industry Development Center in Xinjiang that three high-quality cotton varieties in the Aksu region were successfully selected into the main recommended varieties list of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, namely Xinlu Zhong 84, J206-5, and Zhongmian 113.
This year, the Aksu region has selected 11 fine-staple cotton and 6 long-staple cotton varieties as the main varieties based on the climate characteristics and production actualities of each cotton-growing county (city), with a coverage rate of more than 85%. In April, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs listed the above three high-quality cotton varieties as the main mid-early maturing cotton varieties in southern Xinjiang in 2022, which means that these three high-quality cotton varieties will be promoted and planted in southern Xinjiang on a large scale.
According to reports, the Aksu region is the high-quality cotton production base in Xinjiang. Starting from 2020, the Aksu region will take the optimization of cotton variety structure as a breakthrough, and use “excellent quality, stable and high yield, disease and insect resistance” as the standard, and fully understand the cotton spinning enterprises. A comprehensive evaluation will be conducted based on the development willingness to intervene in the production field and the cotton demand of enterprises, and the recommended varieties with better comprehensive properties will be selected as recommended varieties for regional cotton planting.
