Bangladesh will provide tariff concessions to China and other members of the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement

According to a report by Financial Express on September 25, the National Taxation Administration of Bangladesh recently issued an announcement announcing that it would provide 602 types of commodities imported from five Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement member states, including China, Laos, South Korea, India, and Sri Lanka. Tariff concessions ranging from 10% to 70% are available. The categories of goods mainly include semi-finished products, basic raw materials, large machinery goods, industrial parts, etc. There are no consumer goods for ordinary residents. In the 2017/2018 fiscal year, Bangladesh’s import volume was US$51.5 billion, of which imports from China were US$16 billion and imports from India were US$9 billion.
