On December 8, 2016, Health Canada and Group Lemur Inc. jointly announced a voluntary recall of Chinese-made children’s pajamas.
The products recalled this time are children’s pajamas consisting of tops and pants. It has red sleeves and a gray top with a pattern of 3 cars (yellow, blue and red) and the words “LightningMcQueen” printed on the chest. The blue pants feature an image of the Lightning McQueen character with the number 95 and a yellow lightning bolt within the image. The UPC codes of the recalled products are as follows,

4,852 units of the recalled products were sold in Costco warehouses in Canada in November 2016. The reason for the recall is that the adhesive lining that has detached from the back of the appliqué remains attached to the side seam and forms a loop within the garment, potentially causing a child’s head and neck to become trapped in the lining and neck opening, causing suffocation. So far, LemurGroup Inc. has received 1 incident report of a child’s neck being stuck. No injuries have been reported. Health Canada advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled products and return them to the store of purchase for a full refund or remove the adhesive lining as shown in the image. Canada implements voluntary recall of Chinese-made children’s pajamas
