According to the “Daily Star” report on July 11, the list of countries applicable to the Generalized System of Preferences (Generalized System of Preference) recently released by the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) shows that Bangladesh has once again been banned due to labor rights issues. The countries that were shut out and had their GSP treatment canceled were Ecuador, Fiji, Georgia, Indonesia, Iraq, Niger, Philippines, Thailand, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. Under the GSP arrangement, the United States applies zero tariffs to nearly 5,000 products from 122 countries and regions.
