On July 8, 2016, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India issued an announcement stating that it would conduct an anti-dumping sunset review of viscose staple fiber (excluding bamboo fiber) originating in or imported from China and Indonesia. The final ruling is that if the anti-dumping measures are cancelled, the dumping of the products involved and the damage to the Indian industry will continue or reoccur. Therefore, it is recommended to continue to impose anti-dumping duties on the products involved (see the table below for details). The customs code of the products involved is 550410.

Fibers (except bamboo fiber) are subject to anti-dumping investigation. On August 5, 2009, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India made a preliminary anti-dumping ruling on viscose staple fibers originating in or imported from China and Indonesia, ruling that a provisional anti-dumping duty of US$0.199-0.760/kg should be imposed on the Chinese companies involved in the case, and that Indonesian companies involved in the case should be subject to a provisional anti-dumping duty of US$0.199-0.760/kg. Enterprises impose temporary anti-dumping duties of US$0.127-0.760/kg. On May 17, 2010, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry made a final anti-dumping ruling on viscose staple fibers (except bamboo fiber) originating in or imported from China and Indonesia, ruling that an anti-dumping charge of US$0.194-0.512/kg should be imposed on the Chinese companies involved. Anti-dumping duties of US$0.103-0.512/kg will be levied on the Indonesian companies involved.
