From January to April 2013, my country exported 39.2864 million meters of gray silk, a year-on-year decrease of 17.4%; the average unit price was US$5.14/meter, a year-on-year increase of 9.19%; the total export volume was US$202 million, a year-on-year decrease of 9.83%.
The top five markets by export volume are Pakistan, Italy, India, South Korea and Japan. Except for exports to Pakistan and Japan, which increased by 1.44% and 1.72% year-on-year, the export volumes of the other three markets all declined year-on-year. The decreases were 14.09%, 24.82% and 15.9% respectively.
The top five provinces and cities in terms of export volume are Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Shandong and Qinghai, with the cumulative export volume of the five provinces accounting for 79.42% of the total export volume. Among them, the export volume of Shandong and Qinghai increased by 9.92% and 138.28% respectively year-on-year, while the export volume of Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Sichuan decreased by 7.02%, 12.57%, and 33.82% respectively.
In April, my country’s gray silk exports were 10.8067 million meters, a year-on-year decrease of 15.12%; the export value was US$55.7418 million, a year-on-year decrease of 8.54%.
